FileMakerPro/Mac 5 and Classic Mac OS ODBC.
AUGSOFT'S Classic Mac OS OverDRIVER supports the four different Classic Mac OS ODBC Driver Managers shipped with FileMakerPro 6.0, 5.5, 5.0 and MS-Office 98. This page applies only to FileMakerPro 5.0 on Classic Mac OS and not any other earlier or later release.
The ODBC Driver Manager shipped with FileMakerPro 5.0 appears to have some issues with Office98, whereas the ODBC Driver Manager shipped with Office98 appears to work with FileMakerPro 5.0. Therefore, customers may want to remove the ODBC Driver Manager included with FileMakerPro 5.0 and replace it with the ODBC Driver Manager included with Office98.
To replace the ODBC Driver Manager included with FileMakerPro 5.0, you may choose to follow this simple procedure:
- Delete the ODBC Setup PPC file from your Control Panel folder (contained in your System Folder).
- Delete these files from your Extensions folder (contained in your System Folder):
- ODBC 2.x Bridge PPC
- ODBC Configuration Manager PPC
- ODBC Cursor Library PPC
- ODBC Driver Manager PPC
- ODBC Setup PPC
- ODBC Trace Library PPC
- Delete these files from your ODBC folder (contained in your Extensions folder):
- All FileMaker 3.11 files
- INTERSOLV Translate PPC
- Restart your Mac
- Insert your Office98 CD-ROM (even if you have upgraded to Office 2001), open its Value Pack folder and launch the Value Pack Installer. If you do not have an Office98 CD-ROM, then you may consider using the public domain iODBC Driver Manager.
- Expand the Data Access entry and then expand the ODBC entry and select just the ODBC Administrator entry. Now click Install.
- Proceed to install our ODBC OverDRIVER.
